Bloomsbury A-line smock dress-handwoven cotton

Description

This warm and cosy A-line swing shirt is made from a thick and soft handwoven cotton. The cotton is grown and woven in a village in Madhya Pradesh, India. The texture of the cotton is soft, slubby and beautifully irregular and natural. This is reflected in the way the cotton has absorbed the dye throughout the fabric which gives a depth of tones to the colour. This effect can be seen most clearly in the pictures of the harvest yellow dress. This smock dress is cut in an A-line pattern with princess line seams at the front for fit and a high collar. The sleeves are gathered into a cuff. The buttons are made from coconut. There are two side seam pockets and an optional tie belt which is designed primarily to be tied at the back to gather the garment in.
