whatever this brave new world throws at us we are going to need something to wear!
This is a traditional Chapan ( meaning outer Garment) from Uzbekistan. It is vintage. Quilted with vertical stitches and cotton padding inside. It is completely hand stitched and absolutely gorgeous. Really neatly done with tiny stitches. There is even a braiding sown all around the edge. This detail gives it such strength, practicality, structure and style to me. It's all in the finishing!
There are two small ties to close it. The Sleeves look nice folded up with the blue Floral lining showing
nicely faded at the back with signs of wear at the back shoulder area
The coat is perfect in its imperfections. OLD IS GOLD, and minor signs of wear over time and is part of the beauty and individual magic of this piece
