Boho Dress Special Limited Edition

These VERY special edition Boho Dresses are extremely limited in number. I only have a handful of them and the fabric is so unique that they will never be replicated exactly.

The Cotton used to make these dresses is produced by an up and coming talent in the Handloom weaving sector in India. It is completely hand spun and handwoven in the traditional way. Based on the traditional motifs and heirloom patterns of the bay of Bengal and Calcutta area ( adjacent to Bangladesh)  and typical of the humble Gumcha, a traditional, thin, coarse cotton towel originating from India and Bangladesh, featuring distinctive check or stripe patterns. 

The licorice All sorts and Clay & Earth Weave dress fabrics have exquisite over weft weaving  detailing which is done during the creation process on the loom. Making each dress a unique, un-replicable piece.

This fabric and weaver are so inline with Haruka’s values as whilst typical and deeply honouring the heritage in which it grows, the fabric is also confident in striking an exuberantly  modern and exciting tone. Wonderfully soft on the body and getting softer with washing. Light and breathable with a sophistication born of a confidence in the rustic culture from which it is firmly rooted. The colour palettes are intrepid and daring whilst retaining a harmony indicative of a bold artistic vision and flair. Can you tell that I am in love with this Fabric?! This full-length maxi dress has a deep, flattering cross-over V neck with a wide empire line/ high waistband band with gathered pleats at the front below the band, giving fullness to the skirt and an elasticated panel at the back for comfort and keeping it a snug fit. Three quarter length gentle bell sleeves add to the bohemian look. And, very importantly, the dress has two deep side seam pockets.

CARE:   Hand wash or machine wash at 30 degrees maximum with gentle detergent. Do not tumble dry.
