Description

This rustic and delicate shawl retains the natural colours of the silk

Katia silk is harvested from wild silk so the moths break out of the cocoons naturally leaving shorter fibres which makes the resulting fabric more slubby. And Matka silkworms are fed on mulberry bushes and also the silk is spun after they break out of their cocoons. The resulting fabric is a slightly coarse silk with an uneven texture and a subtle matt finish, as it retains the natural gum (sericin) of the silk fibers
