Description

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS YEAR THE KNITWEAR IS BEING OFFERED ON A PREORDER BASIS. You can choose any style in any colour. Because this is the first time I have done pre-order I have had to upload it slightly differently. The styles are listed by SIZE and then you can select your choice of colour. I have included more pictures than usual of the styles I physically have in my studio and which I welcome you to come and try on and order in person if you are able. The floating garment colour images are to help you let your imagination run wild as you dream your perfect power piece into being.

* NOTE: when you add an item to your basket, look at the colour name NOT the picture. The picture in the cart will not change according to the colour you order

Tara, or Avalokitesvara, is the Buddhist Bhodisattva and a powerful female deity in the Buddhist pantheon. The goddess of compassion, whose name means “star” in Sanskrit, which is apt, as there is something ethereal about this garment.

Practical and flattering, the Haruka Tara Cardigan comes in three sizes and is versatile in the ways it can be styled,  designed to move fluidly between moments.Finely knitted in single ply lambswool, the Tara features a generous shawl collar that drapes naturally. Long vertical lines flatter the body as they draw the eye to them. The collar is wide enough to wrap around the body or pull over the head for warmth, and can be flicked over one or both shoulders for a more sculptural effect. This is the only style that comes with a matching lambswool obi wrap belt included. The belt includes a neat opening to secure it cleanly at the waist. Wear the cardigan wrapped and cinched with the obi for definition, or left open for a more fluid look. The belt can also be worn separately, as a standalone accessory.Extra-long ribbed cuffs with thumbholes offer adaptable comfort: fold them down to warm the hands, or turn them back to create a structured cuff. A quietly distinctive piece that redefines winter elegance.

FIT AND SIZE

S/M is UK size 8/10

M/L is UK size 12-14

L/X is UK size 16-18

In the S/M physical samples I have a Cobalt Blue, Garden Green and Heather sample.Dot is wearing the blue and green samples and  is 5’7” and a UK size 10/12 and Sophie is wearing the Heather. She is 5’6” and a UK size 10/12In the M/L I have a Nepali Red sample and Sophie is modelling it. As you can see, Sophie can wear either the S/M or M/L but I would personally put her in the S/M as I prefer that the garment to be more fitted, but that’s just my personal preference. In the L/XL sample I have a chestnut Tara cardigan and Danu is modeling it. She is 5’4” and a size 14, so for a more fitted look, she would ideally be in the M/L. If you look at the shoulders in the photos, you can see that the cardigan is a bit big for her around the arms.
