Description

Amanda designed and produced these pendants specifically for Haruka. They are made of highly polished brass and brass with a silver plate. There are matching earrings and a brass finished pendant.

The design is based on the famous woodblock print by the Japanese ukivo-e artist, Hokusai called The Great Wave off Kanagawa, Kanagawa-oki nami ura,or literally "Under a wave off Kanagawa". It was published sometime between 1829 and 1833 in the late Edo period as the first print in Hokusai's series  Thirty-six views of Mount Fuji. It is Hokusai's most famous work, and one of the most recognisable works of Japanese art in the world.

The stylised image depicts an enormous wave threatening three boats off the coast of the town of Kanagawa while Mount Fuji rises in the background.

All our jewellery comes wrapped in tissue paper and neatly packed in our black and gilded envelope. We will take any prices off in case it is a present.
